I have been thinking... Entertainment is the New Religion See, Religion was the opiate of the masses back in the day, entertainment does the exact same thing, yet it requires much less from the user, no leaps of faith or Psalm readings, just sit back and do nothing.

The fact that entertainment requires nothing makes it very accessable and very powerful, Not that it controls your actions, but that it stops you from thinking about more important matters. Everyday, newspapers are filled with shit news about movie/rock stars, and does it really fucking matter who is fucking who??? no, it does not, but what it does do is draw our attention away from important matters, Like War for Oil, Hunting/Poaching endangered animals, Pollution...... Basicaly it takes our mind off of the important shit and makes life a little soap opraish place....
